Yep.. Last November. I'm currently trying to find a place to settle for the long term.

Surprisingly, not so much.. at least so far (people up here seem to freak out about snow every bit as much as Houstonians, oddly enough). I'm going to bet that the Summers are milder, though.

Baltimore..?

Yep.. Well, Reisterstown, actually.. About 15 minutes away..

Baltimore is kind of sketchy, though. Not a fan of Maryland in general. I did spend time in Houston and the weather was awful and the houses were really poorlybuilt,but the peopel were extremely nice though, at least that's what I found. I might advise Virginia, and if you can get any sort of altitude to mediate the horrible summer humidity, but then I gfre up and prefer desert dryness. XD. Good luck though.

Maryland has some wonderful scenery and the weather is mild.. It's got Houston beat on those counts, but the cost of living is high here, and, almost as bad, Mexican food is almost nonexistent! I saw some nice potential places to settle in Pennsylvania.. rent is very cheap in some of the small towns.. but I have my concerns about the isolation. I also prefer dryness. I love New Mexico, but, again, I have neither friends nor family there. dunno

Texas to Maryland... whew that's a transition. Honestly, I think I would prefer MD over TX (I'm living in Dallas at the moment).

I would say, go ahead & attend the con. Who knows whom you will meet?

The nature up here is incredible.. For the moment, I'm living in a house in the suburbs and, despite it not really being rural per se, I've seen a herd of deer and a fox in the backyard. The downside is that I'm incapable of experiencing much of it due to my workload and my current lack of a car (soon to be remedied). Just kind of lonely, really.. Don't mind admitting it.

Understandable. That kind of feeling always comes when you enter a new situation and a new area. I've discovered that the way to get through the loneliness is to *be* the friend that you would want to have (i.e. act that way toward others). I guess that's why I'm saying it might be a good idea to attend Fur the 'More.

*whew* High workload, trying to get a car, new area, new job, I can see why it feels kinda stressful. Keep your chin up, Aaron, and let Hollie give you a big friendly cheesy hug.
