Nothing new to me. This is an age of valuable lessons. Whether man will do the right things one day or do nothing and forever live in pain to eventually become existinct remains to be seen.
It just a pretty striking reality that animals are actually starting to die off in mass numbers.. what do you think of the lyric "they've crowned the sun?"
death is the next stage in life do not fear it but embrace it nor should we anticipate it live life as we want and don't hold back we are decimating our planet yet we don't seem to care enough it didn't ruin my day merely opened my eyes to the tragic reality of life. life is precious and we should cherish it not shun it in the shadows of our past never forget that we are the masters of this planet and yet we treat it so carelessly its sad indeed

Humanity is forgetting the wisdom it carries through history again. Civilizations rise and fall and each time so much knowledge and culture is lost. Were born into the world that largely does not know its past.
none of it is learned yet we still make the same mistakes and it destroys large powers in this world no one is listening to the whispers of the past and we are dooming our selves to damnation and we all are going to ruin ourselves if we do not learn is that why you posted this journal to tell that statement?
They say It's best to live every day of your life like it's last day on earth.
*Shrugs shoulders* yes, maybe so, because after all, one does not have to be old or sick to die or be killed in some accident or something.
Anyway you slice it... i don't want to see anyone doing anything to themself to speed up the process (suicides), but I think it's also not a good idea for any of us to act as if we're immortal or indestructible, because we're not.
here's another, much more old school song to put it into perspective...
Nothing new to me.
I have often thought about how humanity is seemingly the first lifeform on Earth causing a mass extinction event. However, we are developing the capability to spread life beyond this planet, as well as the ability to create new forms of life.
In all honesty, I do not find the fact that our civilization and our species will one day die. What I do find interesting is what we may leave behind.
However, that might not matter in the far future when the universe "dies". But any civilization which survives its cradle (like we hopefully will) could very well develop a way to avoid this ultimate fate of the universe by escaping to other universes through wormholes or something similar.
Personally, I accept death as the most likely end, but I will seek to fight it and conquer it if possible.
Its a brave new world till something goes horribly wrong. We're not all that in control politically as well as scientifically. Solving these problems requires cooperation that is unheard of. The big freeze/ultimate fate of the universe is the least of our worries. Thanks for replying.
By the way, you may find this interesting. http://en.spaceengine.org/ This is a nice tool that gave me a perspective of actual distances between space objects. It blew my mind :3

...and, let's face it... as Philosofurs... who knows better than us that perspective is EVERYTHING.
Although, sometimes it feels like there is a lot of things we all have only just so much control over no matter what.
Still, I know this was not very positive of me, sorry about that.

You probably won't even notice.
