Apologies, Chessathon, and Improvements
My apologies to you guys for this groups lack of activity. I will admit, I've been feeling unmotivated and unsure of what to talk about, especially since finding players who are leagues higher in rating than I. So I shall do to better to be more active.
This weekend I participated in fundraising event for the chess club I've been going to at a local public high school called the Chessathon. The goals for the Chessathon were to raise money for the club to get new equipment such as boards and clocks and to go to the state tournament, as well as to improve everyone's play. We did the latter of such things by participating in chess related activities for a straight 24 hours (Hey, I'm not used to even staying up past midnight!). Have you ever done any activities like this?
Also, on the note of activities, what do you think this group could use to improve? I'd love to hear your feedback!
Edit: I just had an idea. Every day of the week, I'll provide a topic to speak about and I'm thinking it should go like this.
Monday: Openings
Tuesday: Tactics
Wednesday:
Thursday:
Friday: Famous games played
Saturday & Sunday: discussion on games we've played or simply to meet up on chess.com and play one another
I'm having trouble thinking of what Wednesday and Thursday ought to be. Any suggestions?

I think you have Wednesday and Thursday :P
Also, I don't know how I'd go about putting puzzles on here. I'd have to put the notation up. Would you be able to follow on a board of your own?
And by history of the game and variants, I mean things like, chess before castling was added and such. Not famous games, but how the game came to be.
Which notation? Is the Queens Pawn game:
1. P-Q4
1. d4
1. d2-d4
I vote for the first, most traditional form.
That said, you'd have to use something like:
White
P - d4
Q - c5
K - e1
Black
P - d5
Q - e7
K - e8
For endgame puzzles.
