Unfortunately I'm in the same boat and can't afford to commission ya, but I can give you some tips! :D Best way to get commissions is to have some good examples of your work for people to consider. Try writing a few short stories (or even just a few sample sections of such) on different themes and from different perspectives, and people will be more likely to check you out! Good luck!
