I think the best way to sum up my FWA experience is with a quote by my mate,
sagaciousturkey the Monday after the con,
"I haven't been sober in days..."
We spent most of the con drinking it up with new and old friends, and generally having a blast. I'd say the best part of the con was eating at Max Lager's Pub with
sagaciousturkey,
antikythera, and
hillbillyguy. The dealers den this year was pretty great; I bought a bad dragon product per FWA tradition, and
sagaciousturkey bought 4 freaking cat-pidgeons. The only complaint I had about this con was the hotel. The rooms were too small, the con space was too vertically stratified, and the elevators were horrifically bad. ALSO, for all you guys who partook of our apple pie, here's the recipe:
1 gallon apple juice
1 gallon apple cider
2.5 cups brown sugar
1.5 cups white sugar
10 cinnamon sticks OR 2 tbsp cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a large stew pot and boil. Let cool to room temperature, then add 1 liter of everclear or moonshine and a fifth of whipped cream vodka. Ladle into mason jars and add an apple slice to each jar. Chill and serve.
