Why is it, some artists... (just wondering)

So, just to be fully clear the question, Why do some artists not post commissions they do for others? I mean, it makes it difficult for me and others to fave their work and to really see what all they do. When I'm looking at who to commission, I like to see their work on their page, no work equals no commission. I don't know if this is how others do it, but I've heard similar for my gf as that she didn't have enough up, and it's understandable, except if she has nothing to work on how can she post it? XD
that aside, I notice work that's amazing by artists, and i try faving the original, but it isn't there. that sorta upsets me, not in a mad way, to notice.
Now i do know it could be to stop people from stealing it, but still, how can you know I like your art or have ideas or thoughts on improvement when there's no where for me to tell you this?

It sounds really weird, but I guess in some way it makes sense. Maybe someone who's really protective of their 'sona? Because I know pro-artists can use the art they do for people for advertising...and I guess when someone doesn't want their 'sona in advertising, they may request this.
Also, on another note, the artist in question could be behind on posting stuff up. I know I just got a bunch of commissions recently, and still haven't gotten around to reposting the pics. xD
