I Could Use Art Advice..

Soboy ostat'sya dol'she...
Okay, so not so widely known is that I spent much of last night drawing and shading shapes for practice, as well as tracing facial outlines, so I can work on the way I draw furry/anthro faces.
I intend to try practicing feral as well, and as I was advised, I'm attempting to draw from life.
I was mostly hoping for some critique of my two WIPs [for the second, please ignore the color, it went wrong somehow, so I'm gonna go back into the linearts and fix it.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10207027/ This one is of Sharon Needles, freehanded based on a picture from Google. I figured S/he has a very unique facial shape, and would offer practice in a lot of areas, unfortunately, I didn't think it through, as there's a shitton of details...
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10212306/ This one, I wanted to create a character that would let me experiment with different ways of drawing the body shape, as well as using different shapes. I know proportions are way off, I blew my canvas up too much, and didn't take that into consideration.
The other things I was hoping for, would be for someone to teach me how to shade that particular piece from several light sources, so I know for future reference how I should shade and highlight..
also, I don't suppose someone would be up for doing some skeletons of certain types of animals [avian, reptile, dragon, canine, feline and vulpine] So I can compare the shapes to what I have done in the past... It's a lot to ask, I know.
On the other hand, I plan to start to do more with backgrounds also, after some scenery drawing practice..

And draw from life. I can't even stress enough how much that helps. Using a photo is good, but it's 2D and will inherently be flawed. Even if it's just when you're sitting at the bus stop or something and you're bored and you just slap down a 30 second doodle of how the guy across the street is reading his paper.
I'd really suggest just taking a few months and working on that, then come back to furry stuff. You'll have a much better grasp on how furries work if you just draw people and animals, not a combination of the two.
I'll take a look at the links, and do what I can to apply it ^^!
I'm thinking I agree with you, I might have more success if I just start with what I see, and build from there. I am actually decent with normal humans, but I worry about posting too much, because people complain about human art ><. I could use a lot of practice on animals. I've never been too successful with animal art ><
But I can see the point of doing them seperately first, especially if I'm aiming to learn anthro specifics. I get the human anatomy in, and then learn animal anatomy, and then it should be easier to combine the two.
