Okay, we had decided on "Fyoria Anadalyse Faye Fisk" for a Girl, and "Sabastian Xavier Benno Fisk" for a boy...But I dunno, naming the baby is one of the most fun parts of parenthood! So I came up with a few other names I like. Just wanting other's opinions on them!

always keep in mind that children are mean. they will poke fun at everybody given the chance... something fancy aside the 'calling' name should be fine I guess, though. but don't overdo it...
also, personally I can't see why McKenzie would be a suitable name for a girl. or Journey, Kingston, or Maverick for a boy.
wait, Lyric Melody Song? O.O please, don't do that... *hugs*
sorry for the rant. it's none of my business, really.
ignore me.
I mean, sure, kids are mean, but in the end, whose fault is it? Not the parents for giving their child a beautiful name. Not the teacher, because she can't hear the little sneers behind her back. But the other kids' parents for thinking it's cute their kids pick on others. Why not, instead of telling someone not to name their kid something, you go and tell the other kids not to make fun of it? Stop the whole oppression of individuality at it's source.
I know, I sound like I'm some hippie who's high, but seriously, I'm not. I'm being entirely serious right now.
so whose fault is it if a kid named Pocopatepetl is picked on? who gave the kid the name, I ask you? the teachers? the other kids? their parents?
small example from the music scenery.
you might have heard from Bon Jovi; one of the guitarists' first name is Rachel. and it's male. now, is 'Rachel' a male name to you? it sounds nifty, granted, but do you really think children would shrug and keep their mouth shut and their poking fingers to themselves when a boy is named like a girl?
not really, do you?
as for constructive, I have yet to see you comment something constructive to this journal.
case dismissed.
And as a child, I had no problem with how anyone else was named. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
And as for me posting something constructive, I would, if it were not for people who seem to think that a parent should not name their child something they want to simply because other children *might* pick on them.
of course, children would pick on every possible name, if the recipient reacts adversely to it (it takes a strong personality to either retort, shrug it off and ignore it, or allow it in order for the others to get bored quickly. even as an adult I had a hard time accepting nicknames I wasn't happy with to begin with).
so if you never saw a popint in picking at other's names, more power to you. unfortunaltely not everybody stands above it.
it's a personal preference. with some of the names above I would be perfectly fine, either giving them, or wearing them. others sound... like a collection of syllables. hence my (probably uncalled) little rant.
and hey, if soemone else's opinion makes you refrain from voicing your own then you should think again on what "Freedom of Speech" truly means.
Also, I don't worry so much about kids picking on the new little one, because s/he's being home-schooled. Both Ben and I are intelligent and rounded academically, and I like the idea of parental control over education - that way s/he'll be comfortable at whatever speed comes natural.
And, ever notice how "Hollywood" parents give their kids unique names? I may not be famous, but I do on occasion get to rub elbows with those who are. With a unique name, it is easier to be both noticed and recognized in the industry, if that's what s/he wants.
As for kids minding their parents - My son, Arden Swanson Nathaniel Norton (4 names, so I'm almost obligated to do the same for this one...) has a 3 strike policy - told no three times, then does get spanked if he doesn't listen. We just had him up for a week, and I can DEFINITELY say that out of all my RL friends, he's the most well-behaved child in the group (Even they agree) Doesn't matter if it's at home or at the store, I'm proud to be a spanking mom *IF* it's warranted and he listens well because of it - Plus even with a subtly more feminine name, he's the most popular guy in his Kindergarten class, so it doesn't seem to hurt him :)
That's all...Thanks for your opinion on this though! Don't think I'm totally disregarding it, just wanted to explain the reason behind the name choices :)
Arden Swanson Nathaniel Norton sounds good, is unique, definitely male, pronouncable, spellable... nothing bad with that. you have some unique and still 'good' names in your list up there. choose well.
where did your parents dig up a name like Ditto? o.O curious...
well, I think it beats being named Condoleezzzzzzaa Rice. I would have sued my parents into changing their names as well, the mother would be named Basmati, and daddy would go as UncleBens Parboiled from now on. XD
not much wrong with spanking, as long as it's reasonable, leaves the kid in one piece and is only the very last resort. I believe giving rules and stick to them consequentally is equally important, and you seem to do that, too.
Also consider that essentially all ID forms have only three entry boxes for a name. A person with a four part name might have never ending problems with computers saying that the applicant for (credit, school, job, driver's license, medical care, etc.) is not the person that they claim to be because the name that they entered on the form doesn't agree with the birth record.
As a furry name, I love Aura Fynn Dagger. As a furry name...
Eden Natalie Sarai
McKenzie Nevaeh Adalai (hehe, I have a cousin named McKenzie. She's a little devil though xD)
For a boy... Tanner Avery Cage is the only one that really catches my eye.
Whatever you get, I know you'll love it, and I know that it'll get the best of care and attention.
