I honestly have no idea what to even look for when critiquing. What exactly should I look for when critiquing art?

Well for non-artists it's things that don't really look right. Things that take you out of the image. And such. (Like if an arm looks off or the shading seems unrealistic considering the light source, etc etc)

For artists it'd be more specific things like, "I didn't particularly care for your taste in perspective." Or "Your concept of directional forces was inappropriately used. My eye goes right out of the picture and your focal point is taken away from because of it."
