is people who think, just because you are dating someone, that you need linked icons.
Or to announce it to everyone.
Ever since I left my ex, I've been talking to and 'dating' this girl I know and hardly anyone knew. Not because I didn't want people to know, but because I didn't feel the need to start drama and people thinking that i was doing this to hurt my ex.
Because at the same time, my ex thought she was dating my girlfriend. And would bitch about how her and my girlfriend never had linked icons.
Saying that they NEED linked icons to date, that the WORLD needs to know that they are dating. Even though my girlfriend never said yes, and my ex was assuming that they were dating.
And now i've seen so many people freaking out because they NEED link icons with their girlfriend/boyfriend/lover. You don't NEED linked icons to show that you are dating someone. and linked icons don't always MEAN that you are dating someone. They could be for two people who are really good friends and want to just have linked icons.

I totally agree with you. Very rarely have I seen linked icons between two people who weren't romantically involved...I think I've seen it twice, and with one pair they were platonic partners.
