well, when i entered the furry fandom about a year ago, i wasnt confronted with that many herms... only the last 2 months it seemed like it was all there is O.o

Well, I can tell you, first off - it's you. You'll find out shortly that the longer you spend in this fandom, the more you'll see. Artists aren't always drawing everything they draw, in every picture. It can take a long time (see: about a year) for an artist to come full circle and draw everything that they normally draw. And artists are also people, discovering new things, just as you discovered herms, but some people choose to embrace the new.

As far as herm players/artists themselves - please, for the love of fuck, don't try and lump us all in together. Hell, not trying to understand is probably the best route you can go. People like herms for the same variety of reasons as to why people like furries. I know a number herm-furs who really are transgendered, some who are pre-op, some who are men who wish to be women, some women who wish they had a penis, some men who like to be men, and some women who are just open like that. The staple "gender-confused" applies to a very few of us. Some of us may not like the gender we have, but very, very few of us are 'confused.'

My own person reasons are just that I find them arousing. A lot of 'straight' furs use herms as a bridge, to explore their bi-sexuality. Not I. Herms are my stop, not my bridge. If I had to explain it, I couldn't. I just accept it, and play through.

yeah, I wasn't into herms when I first saw them, as humans, but as I got more and more involved into the hentai world, I discovered how interesting that was... and now that I'm a part of the furry fandom... well... funny... I like herms and I've even faved pics here and there X3
