Words ring cold

Today I have finished reading A Memory of Light the last book of the Wheel of Time series. Upon reaching the end I felt as though I had just finished saying goodbye to an old friend. I'm not sure if it's just me but the story moved me. Now I'm curious. Have any of you gotten the same feeling from a book or some other form of story telling? If so, and you feel comfortable, please share what.

I get this feeling from many a different thing. One of those times was after reading the last book of the Harry Potter series. Another was, after watching the entire series, was the finale of M*A*S*H*. That picture of Goodbye still brings tears to my eyes. And one final example was the last episode of Enterprise. It has been years since Star Trek first started in 1966 and it is my first fandom I got into. It has had a series on TV for as long as I remember and I watched them all but now that it is not airing much these days that final episode felt like a good bye not just to Enterprise but to a whole universe. I can only hope they come back with a new series soon.
