The Weekend.

Hello again friends and watchers.
This weekend has been a sort of mixed bag for The Only Straight Otter. We'll start with all of the bad news first:
-I have not succeeded in my quest to find a woman who can hold my attention with more than her boobs at ISU. This has troubled me a great deal. All of the women here are just obsessed with being slutty, but I find modesty and intelligence much more attractive.
-My computer decided to suck. Yeah. I was playing Left 4 Dead 2, which used to run on very high beautifully, and I get an audio loop about 5 minutes in, a black screen, and finally a crash. This is not a mere CTD. No. Nothing so typical. Instead, windows decides it wants to crash.
I guess there's only two bad circumstances worth mentioning. On to the satisfactory and above, then!
-I fixed it so my computer crashes after a full level, not partial or full stage, in L4D2.
-I cracked open a bottle of Buffalo Trace. For those of you that enjoy bourbon and saving money, give this one a whirl. It drinks beautifully with a single (small) ice cube. All for slightly over $20 per 750ml bottle. That is a standard fifth, ladies and gentlemen.
-My cigars arrived. I purchased AJ Fernandez overruns. These are cigars that were supposed to be in official lines of his cigars, like the Man O Wars, San Lotanos, or Diesel. However, due to improper wrapper color, uneven tones, or other minor defects that don't affect flavor, they are sold without bands for much cheaper. I picked up a 20 pack of churchills for about $35. Under 2 bucks per stick! Here's the really good news: they're damn good.
-I met up with an old friend that I haven't seen for probably close to half a year. I'm thinking since before winter break. I gave him a cigar and he gave me beer. We chilled out like we did when I would visit his Frat house more often than I do now. His frat has kind of gone to shit, which is why I'm glad he has his own place. It was good to catch up. We talked about major switches, new whiskeys we tried, beers, cigars, etc. I'll have to make a point to stop by again.
-I met up with another friend for dinner earlier that day. He took me to a local brewery and made me steak and homemade mashed potatoes. I hadn't seen this guy for like a month. It was nice to finally talk, eat, drink whiskey and beer, and enjoy each other's company over a nice cigar. He finally smoked the Montecristo White I got for him. If you like mild cigars, go for it. Superbly done.

doctorfox bought me a new beer. Left Hand Milk Stout. It is amazing. If you like beers within the stout realm, you have to give this a try. Delicious coffee flavor with a hint of sweetness. Probably the best stout I've had in a while. I highly recommend this beer. It may be pricier than other stouts, but it's well worth it for $10 per six pack.
I suppose that's everything. Thanks for staying with me through this update. Wish me luck in life, and I'll wish you luck in graduating from Skol.
Stay classy out there!

The taste of the Buffalo Trace was excellent.

For ~$20, it would be incredibly hard to beat.

I'm going to need a lot of luck passing from Skol sense I'll only get through by cheating.

Hey, man. It's okay. Everybody has difficulties at times. But we don't use the term "cheating." Instead, think of me as your creative alcohol consultant. You give me your budget, and I'll try to recommend better options. Although, this may mean you sacrifice "getting wasted" in favor of savoring the flavor of a given alcohol. This is not for everybody, at least not for every stage of their life. If you do not graduate from Skol this year, it is alright. I'll continually wish you luck and offer advice for getting past the stranglehold that cheap booze obviously has over your life. When you're ready to graduate, you'll know. And I'll be here. Stay classy out there!

But what this does is allow your tastes to become refined and educated, with both Liquor and Women. Two really edgy topics. It looks like you are on your way. Now, just make sure your career can support this shaping of this lifestyle and you're golden. Or don't, such is the American way. But anyways, two of my co-workers agree, college is also about doing experiential "things" away from parents. One does not learn just textbook canonized knowledge through college. One learns things about life. I had that term of slutty-campus-girls mentioned just last night with a co-worker and proven through the experiences of another.

I agree, but I've had my share of refinement. I've found all of the cheap experiences devoid of any meaning and are now painfully boring. Freshman year was a useful thing, indeed.

Very good. College is a life experience.
