...well, it's a big deal for me, alright?
Figured I ought to do it before I talk myself out of the deal down the line. So I need to worry about the hotel situation first, and then the innate panic that comes whenever I leave the house compounded with my fears of cities, crowds, and having fun.

As the sayin' goes, and definitely applies for conventions, NEVER too early to start plannin' dude! :D Handle yourself for the trip to and from, have what yah need, perhaps plan to find people, etc!
Overall, keep calm and relaxed, and you'll have a buncha fun! <3
Seriously though, that's a heck of a bummer. Though I also had no idea it was local relative to you.
I'm about 2 hours away in NJ.
