It may sound trite and maybe a bit like a sound bite, but its the truth.

I think you pretty much nailed it... Can you really beat senseless violence with paranoia and even more violence?

Then again, I'm from north of the border, so I might have a different vision of it all, but my thoughts still go out to all those affected.

I agree that we shouldn't be scared; we can't let the occasional lone wolf terrorist, or the occasional shooting keep us from living our lives. And we also shouldn't let the government or media scare us into surrendering our liberties in the name of "safety" aka government control.

I know about this and it stroke a personal cord. I used to live in Massachusetts. My step dad lives there and called him. Thankfully he and other people I know are safe. Still, I feel devastated what happened.

What happened today was terrible. :( What you said about being strong and persevering through these things really does ring true though. We all need to keep going as best as we can and not cave in to fear from terrorist attacks like what had occured today.
