Yiynova Tablet Monitor REVIEW

Had a chance to use the Yiynova tablet monitor ( Model MSP19U ). Drew this image (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/10426982/) of Red Panda Case's character, Naomi, entirely with the device.
I must say that it is a very NICE piece of hardware! I heard about Yiynova before, but had my doubts, because I mean... come on... it's hard to blindly purchase something so expensive -- too much of a risk for us poor artists.
I decided to list a few pro's & con's to help out other curious artists...
*** PROS ***
*SIZE - The surface is 16x10" (19" diagonal) of drawing space, which is MORE than one really needs. In the second image, you can see my clunky gorilla mit against the screen (shown here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....pg%20large.jpg) , and my hands are 8" long. [COMPARISON-- The Cintiq has a 21.5" working surface, which is slightly larger than the Yiynova, but not very noticeable.]
*FEEL - The screen is a very nice glass surface. I had heard that there was some separation between the actual tip of the pen and the cursor, but it's no different from the same in the Wacom Cintiq (which I believe has some form of plastic screen... can't remember). You can tilt the device back as far as you like, just like the CIntiq, but I am not sure if you can rotate it... never tried. [COMPARISON-- Both have a decent feel. Wacom has a slight 1-up here, because they have shortcut controls on the screen, which can be very handy, but if you use a keyboard for all shortcuts, then on-screen shortcuts are of no use.]
*BRIGHTNESS - One of my favorite features of the Yiynova... a BRIGHT And colorful screen! All colors displayed as vibrantly as other brand new monitors I've owned, so I had NO problem distinguishing colors. [COMPARISON -- I do not remember how bright the larger cintiqs were, but I know the smaller brands (the 12" and 13" ones, which are around $1000) are slightly dim. Artists I have known normally drag their images to a second screen to double-check colors on their images.]
*PRICE-- The Yiynova MSP19U is only $599 US, brand new. That is almost 1/4 the price of Wacom's Cintiq equivalent!! [COMPARISON-- Yiynova is $599, Cintiq is $2000. See for yourself... http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CINTIQ-.....ywords=yiynova ]
**** CONS ***
* NO ERASER - The eraser on the back of the pen is more of a "click pen" button that turns the pen's battery on and off. This isn't much of a problem though, since you can hold down E in most programs to erase.
* BATTERY-POWERED PEN - The pen runs on a standard AAA battery. This creates two problems 1.) The pen is just a tad slightly heavier than a Wacom pen, and 2.) The power in the pen can run out. HOWEVER, the pen lasts a VERY LONG TIME, so this is a simple problem to fix.
* SLIGHT PRESSURE PROBLEMS (??) - Apparently there is an app you can download to help adjust the pressure sensitivity of the Yiynova, but I noticed that when you drag the pen super lightly over the screen, it does not draw. If I lightly stroke my Intuos 3's stylys over my tablet, I get a very fine line. This was not a deal-breaker for me, but it would be something I would try to adjust.
FINAL THOUGHTS---- I must say, for the price... it's definitely worth it for me. I just do NOT Have $2k -- or even $1k-- to be spending on a tablet monitor. Maybe someday in the future I might make an investment like that... but for now, the Yiynova does what I need, and I WILL be purchasing one!

It may not be as great as a Cintiq, but the money saved getting a screen you can digitally draw on, why the hell complain?
