ENCRYPTION = FREEDOM This directory will serve to collect, organize, and categorize links that are important for our watchers. It's purpose is to facilitate education pertaining to copyright, encryption, privacy, censorship, news, and the process by which legislation is passed, as well as to encourage civil engagement. Some links are duplicated on purpose. We love hearing comments and suggestions from our watchers and hope that you will contribute to this list by commenting below.

Fight For The Future | FftF showcases many problems with the internet, copyright, privacy and other violations of digital rights.
Alternet | An alternative news site that tends to address matters from a more psychological and scientific perspective. If you like mainstream news, don't click.
TorrentFreak | May have some things a lot of people don't agree with but is nevertheless an excellent source of news for privacy, piracy, and copyright policy.

School Of Privacy | A place that actively answers questions, provides security solutions, and comments on current events.
PrivNote | allows for one time pads for note making and communications that self destruct and are encrypted on the servers.

Ubuntu and Mint are easiest distros for beginners. However, I recommend to replace Unity with Gnome if you're using Ubuntu since Unity is heavy and its search function sends information(anonymous) to Amazon.
