Got an error on the SV

General
After putting everything back together and turning the key I got a fuel injection warning telling me something was wrong. It started right up even with the warning and ran fine. The dealer wanted 50.00 just to hook their Dealer Mode switch (makes my digital readout say exactly what the issue is and not just FI malfunction) to the communication port. I made my own with some spare wire and a diagram in 4 min and sure enough it did the trick. It said that my intake temp sensor was unplugged. Upon inspection it was plugged in but with all the jerking to get it put in I broke the tip off the sensor that cost 15.00. Crisis averted! Still riding till the new part comes in seeing it does not affect the engine much unless you really get into the throttle and then it starts flipping shit.

awesome pawsome for getting around the diagnostics with spare wire. :)

Well. My com port is only 4 wires. The "dealer switch" just puts a bridge on the left 2 wires I learned. There is no diagnostic computer for Suzuki bikes. They just wired it so you can't access the internal diagnostics without paying a dealer an arm and a leg. The digital speedometer and everything turns into a nice little diagnostic computer screen telling you everything that you should check.

Carefull with that intake sensor as the both the bike and road temps start rising... remember thats what tells the bike the air is warm to hot and to adjust the fuel mix accordingly... how long till part comes in?

Like 3 days. I have twin o2 sensors that also adjust for air temp just they adjust after the throttle change so any change and the engine bogs down a little then picks back up. It was fine going to work when it was 63 but just now on the ride home it was 40 and kept bogging down if I changed throttle position.

yeah, unfortunately thats the purpose of the intake temp sensor, it would tell the obc "temp is low, change mix accordingly" not even being concerned about the throttle position... the o2 sensors adjust for flow intake changes... less air, less gas.. more air, more gas.. but that temp sensor.... thats where things get really weird...
