Goings-on
Hey! Just realized i haven't written anything up here in well over a year now. So figured i'd offer an update of sorts. Here's the short-list of things that have gone down since my last journal:
- Lost my job.
- Got into a car accident.
- Came out to my parents.
- Got a dog.
- Finally saw my sculpting work in a movie for the first time (Cabin in the Woods)
- Went to Vancouver (definitely highlight of the year. such a cool place!)
- Started meds reduction. As of this week, almost completely off. Feeling awesome & much more alert.
Oh! And more recently, my former boss did a sort of write-up about me & my work on facebook. So now i'm being contacted by all these sfx artists and industry heads that i've admired for years. Needless to say, i'm rather excited about this. Still kinda reeling from it all, but it's definitely lit a fire beneath me. As you may have noticed, i'm posting pretty regularly again & will continue to do so. Just doing my best to scan & clean up as much finished (or mostly-finished) work as possible. And quite a lot has accumulated, especially over the last couple years. I'd lapsed into a state of spaced-out irresponsibility for so long, i more or less forgot how awesome it feels to share new stuff with you guys. Reading your comments, discussing all manner of things... it effectively wipes the dust off my brain and gets me all that much more excited to work. Also, i figure what with all the recent industry contacts, maintaining an influx of new work is the best way of at least staying fresh in the minds of potential future employers :3
btw, i'm starting a tumblr for my art & photos. Got it all set for the most part, just been lazy about putting actual work up on there. Soon though! I'll post the domain once it's official.

FA+

oh also, i was just visiting vancouver for a bit. im actually in california.
so yeah, by all means hit me up if you ever find yourself in/around LA.
WHAT? That's so cool you got to throw your work into that montage o' vicious monsters.
- That sucks unless it's what opened the door for your sculptin' work.
- Hell, damn! you seem to be alright though? That's good.
- Good for you! I'm still workin' on that myself... Mom down... dad to never tell.
- Aww doggie! Hope he/she is a great addition to your family. :D
- Sweet! It's pretty rewardin' to see your art in action eh?
- Ah man, that's great. Travel, vacations, whatever. It's good to get out and about. Glad you had fun.
- Nice! My boyfriend's doin' the same thing so I know what some of that entails. I hope you (and my boyfriend) can be meds free. :)
That's awesome news. Good to hear your dreams 're bein' realized. I know exactly what you mean by lapsing into a state of spaced-out irresponsibility. I'm kinda wrestlin' with that state myself.
hope your bf makes it off his meds alright, whatever he happens to be withdrawing from.
also, i hope you find a means of jostling yourself from that spacey mind-state!
I'll keep my fingers crossed this momentum just keeps on building for you <3
Cabin in the Woods was a lot of fun, even more so at the end when things spiral out of control. It's exciting to know that you were highlighted in that!!!
Dunno if you ever make it North, but if you do, let Mui and I know! It'd be awesome to snag coffee/beer/roast chicken!
But yeah, i do head up North pretty often to visit family in the bay area. So hell yes! I would love to meet up & hang with you guys!! In fact, Weazal & i were thinking of possibly doing a road trip up to SF at some point (still not sure when but probably in the fall). i'll be sure to keep ya posted ^ ^
I'll swing by & get ya one o' these sundays, just text me whenever it works best w/ your schedule.
