One Semester down...

And, with the turning in of my research paper on the benefits of horror in children's literature, my first semester back to college is over. I won't lie, I deliberately took it easy on myself for this first semester, but I wasn't sure, considering the state I've been in since the LAST time I was in college. Oddly enough, I may not have needed to be as gentle on myself as I thought, considering when I (FINALLY!) took my Accuplacer test a week ago, I tested into the same level Math class as my ex is currently in while she's working on her Master's degree (and, according to her, scored the highest Maths score on that test in the Unlimited Learning Center's history)...on the opther hand, I tested lower in English than I did originally, so apparently all this Internet is having a detrimental effect on me...
I also emerged from the semester with an unexpected literary dividend: a children's book. So far, it seems to be fairly well-regarded by those who've read the text, and I've been working on the pictures here and there. We'll see if anything comes from it...although I admit, in light of my past creative efforts, it'd probably be the height of irony if, God/Allah/Buhdda/Primus forbid, my first published work ends up being a kids' picture book...
