Granted, no one has been a dick to me EVER during my time on FA. Everyone I've directly associated with has been really nice.
But I've definitely seen some real dicks almost constantly on this site. Just today I saw someone post a reference (very politely) when they asked for a request, which is normal right? I guess not, because some douche replied about how she was stupid for feeling proud of herself over having a reference. Like, he spent a good paragraph bitching her out for posting a link. What the shit.
Also, last night when
runawaydanish and I did a stream of free art, some asshole bitched at Zano for not drawing their character very well. I'm sure anyone reading this already knows this, but I'll clarify. Art is a service. It is a luxury, ESPECIALLY if it is free. You do not have the right to be a douche because it is not up to your expectations when you did not pay a penny for it. You can politely comment on the quality if you feel so inclined, but why be an asshole about it? Even if you are paying, you should always be polite to the artist. We don't have to waste our time on you.
Really, I think the FA douchery stems from
jelethorim 's one journal where people got on his case for wondering what a certain kind of relationship would be like. I think ever since then I've been cursed to watch perfectly nice people be treated like shit on this site. Way to go, Jelethorim. I hope you're happy, dick.

Its kinda like that in everyday situations too. for example. you're in a supermarket and the guy/lady next to yyou asks a staff member why they don't have (item) in stock, and gets really snarky at them. Its hardly that staff members fault that someone else happened to buy the last one of said item before they did, or that there wasn't more at that specific point in time.
I guess you could say 'shit happens, and assholes cause it'
