Fursuit supplies recommendations and advice

Important Blah
A friend of mine is getting more involved in the fur fandom and was considering making her own fursuit. She asked me for some help so I compiled this list of some basic materials you will need while making a fursuit head. This is based around a balaclava (I just laughed too hard at that) style head. I figured you guys may also get some use out of it if you are looking for new suppliers or are first timers at making fursuits.
Supplies Tips
Elastic (Can be purchased at wallmart, decent quality, good price) You will need this for armsleeves should you have them, A moving jaw if you wish to install one, and belt loops for your tail. Elastic is just nice to have around.
Fabric
There are two ways to go when furring. If you want to do airbrushed markings I highly recommend purchasing higher quality fur with an Acrylic base. This takes far better to ink and paints than most plush furs used for tony suits. That being said there are two very good fur suppliers I highly recommend.
http://www.mendels.com/fur2.shtml (For more expensive furs that can be airbrushed with better results) Do NOT purchase their punkymuppet, Shag, or Mongolian. These are not bad fur types but they are the same you will find on the next site I send you only the overcharge. This website offers 5 free swatches so you can choose a few samples to see whjat you like.
http://www.distinctivefabric.com/ca.....hp?cat=LONGFUR This is where I get most of my fur supplies from. They have some of the best deals for quality and selection. They also offer 5 free swatches provided you sign up. (I am a member of this website and they only send a couple emails a month. No spam)
http://fursuitsupplies.com/ This website stocks the same supplies as distinctive fabrics longer furs, though I believe they are somewhat limited on styles and colors of fur. As for shipping and overall price you will have to compare your location along with their shipping rates and budget per yard.
-Fleece
You will most likely need black fleece for the inside of your mouth, and around the eyes. (Also for a nose if you would rather make one than purchase one) You may also want additional colors for pawpads, tongue, and earlining. Again I recommend purchasing this at wallmart
-Thin cotton Balaclava http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cotton-Span.....af&vxp=mtr This is what I use now, good quality for the price you pay.
-1 Roll of Upholstery Foam (Can be purchased in Walmart for about $20 (USA)
-Eyes
For toony suits the two materials I highly recommend are Buckram, a thin stiff fabric that is fairly easy to see through, this fabric works best for eyes while drawing the pupil/iris with Copic, Prismacolor, or any other brightly colored permanent markers of your choosing. (I do not recommend Sharpies if your color of choice is green, purple, blue, or silver. They turn out rather dark) and Plastic Mesh. this is a cheaper route but in my opinion does not look nearly as nice. You can use paints more willingly on this because it usually has larger holes and you do not risk filling those in with excess paint.
Extra parts
My favorite supplier is Definitely Dreamvision Creations http://www.monoyasha.webs.com/ Some of their prices are a little higher than what you may find in other places but the quality is superb. If you are going the route that involves purchasing your own nose I recommend them, the colors, quality, and variation in styles outweight what I have seen from a lot of different places.
Unless you want special Uv/glow in the dark/ or LED claws you would be safe going with http://fursuitsupplies.com/ their claws are some of the cheaper ones that can be purchased. And while they don’t have a big diversity in color or styles they are a nice simple resolution if you are on budget.
