TERMS OF SERVICE
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY
All commission prices on my price sheet are starting costs; these prices are subject to change on a customer-by-customer basis. Full payment is required upon commission approval. Meaning that once we have both talked about your art and I start your commission. I will request the full amount. There are payment options that can be worked out. Example; I can take half now and the rest before completion of the customer’s art. (This applies to art that exceeds $100 or more only.) Anything less than that will need to be paid up front in full.
SECTION 1. COMMISSION PROCESS: IN A FEW STEPS.
1 – A sketch will be done: with you (or/and the set of characters). I will send this via note with a shared link, or via email. (Your preference.) Once that is viewed and approved I will continue your artwork.
2 – I will then clean the sketch and apply the inks. I will send this out for approval and once approved I will request the first half of the transaction—(only if the money exceeds $100+.) If less than $100, then I will ask for the full price after the inks are approved before moving to the next step. No additional revisions can be made after this step. Unless they are (within reason.) “Review the Revisions section below.”
3 – Flat colors will be added based on the references given to me upon commission request. Please note that the colors may change slightly based on where I light and shade your art. Keep in mind I will abide by your reference sheet as closely as possible. Once this is approved I will move to step four.
4 – Final additions will be added like shading, lighting and other accents before the final is sent to you. Also again, please note that the final may differ from your references to accommodate lighting and shading. The final piece will be shown to the commissioner. I will do minor revisions on a case-by-case basis.
SECTON 2. REVISIONS:
(Note: All revisions must be reasonable. If you are asking me to change the pose of a character (in the sketch phase) that is fine. If you ask me to redo the entire illustration because you decided you wanted something else, that is another case. All I ask is that you use common sense upon requesting changes, especially big ones!
SECTION 2B. REVISION RULES:
COMMISSIONS MORE THAN $50
Commissions that are $50 in value or higher: Revisions of the composition of the drawing may be requested up to 3 times during the “sketching” process of the drawing. If you want more than three revisions then I will request a fee of 10% of the commission price per revision after three. No excuses.
COMMISSIONS LESS THAN $50
Artwork that is less than $50 in value will not be eligible for 3 revisions, no excuses.
Commissions less than fifty dollars in price: Revisions in excess of three will not be allowed. No Exceptions.
SECTION 3. NUMBER OF REVISIONS.
UPON COLORATION OF YOUR ARTWORK:
Artwork $50 or greater: If you request a revision of the coloration of the piece you are entitled to one revision, free of charge. After that I will incur a fee of 10% that of the commission’s price for every revision after.
Artwork $50 or less: You will only be entitled a single revision. No excuses.
SECTION 4. CANCELATIONS
IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL A COMMISSION:
I will cancel a commission for any reason I see fit. In the event that I do cancel a commission. This is what will happen:
IF THE COMMISSIONER CANCELS THE COMMISSION
If a cancellation becomes necessary on the part of the commissioner and part of the commission work is completed.
If the commission is still at it’s first step of the process, a portion of the first half of the payment will be retained to cover the cost of the sketch. The remainder of the first half of the price will be refunded to the client.
If the commission has moved on to the second process of the commission half of the payment will be kept. The commission work already completed will be sent to the commissioner either via e-mail or note.
If the commission has advanced to the final process, half of the payment will be kept. The piece will be held and I as the artist reserve the right to keep the artwork either for auction or to be redone for my own purposes.
IF THE ARTIST CANCELS THE COMMISSION
If a cancellation is necessary by the artist, the artist on a case-by-case basis will decide the final outcome of said cancellation.
