Thinking about buying a Cintiq, Comments?
So I finally managed to find a store that can special order them, direct order is not an option for me in this case.
And I find myself leaning towards the 22HD. I have to wait until Monday before I know one way or another which one they can get in.
I have read a lot of reviews on the various cintiqs and most are feature focus or compare performance to previous models. So if someone here who reads this has any input on the Cintiq they would like to share, i'd like to hear from you.
13HD is a possibility, 24HD is too damn big, i have not yet liked Wacom's touch feature performance compared to other devices i already use in tandem, so I'm going to abstain from the Touch versions and keep my greasy mits OFF the screen.
After what i'm going through with the Galaxy Note, a protective screen cover is going to have to be JUST right otherwise i'll make my peace with scratching the screen.
I'll most likely end up hooking it up mostly to my laptop so i can use every program I have, Mac or PC, on it as needed. I know i need an adapter for these HD versions.
I am willing to accept that they heat up and I can live with the touch strips as i'll likely never use them with all the express keys it has.

Going to try the 13HD when Amazon gets them in stock. Definitely get a Cintiq from Amazon as their return policy is excellent.
Noises like that don't bug me and are easily remedied. The Anti-glare coating is something i've gotten used to dealing with and while it's a problem with color checking and such, i've learned to let it go, especially when i've got half a dozen monitors around me at all times anyway.
Dead pixels are a total deal breaker if they are in the canvas area. Another reason i prefer dealing with people in person rather than ordering online (though if i could i would have ordered online anyway on this one a long time ago, but i can't)
But asking it to be flawless is unrealistic. It's an understandable sentiment that i totally feel you on though!
I personally can't comfortably use my cintiq without one, since it reduces the friction of your hand against the glass surface.
Didn't realise it was an artist version of a trigger glove XD
And if you must, buy only from those you trust or after you've had some hands on time with the device.
Cintiq 13HD $1099
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ.....irtualParent=1
Requires connection to PC. Bulky and somewhat immovable.
2048 levels of pressure.
1920x1080 display.
Surface Pro $1000
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Sur.....ds=surface+pro
It's a Windows slate with a built in Wacom Digitizer.
2048 levels of pressure
1920x1080 display
The 13HD has the same rough size as a medium intuos and fits in your lap, plus it weighs about the same as the Surface, which i have had some hands on time with and was not impressed.
Requires a connection, that's fine, it means i can move it to any computer i have and can upgrade computers without losing the monitor. I didn't just buy an inferior laptop platform that's tied to a digitizer screen. I already have a Glaxy Note 10.1 for half the price and gives me the same mobile sketchpad experience i got out of the surface. This would be something more for my workstation, so i don't need it to be mobile.
THe surface pro comes with 1024 levels of pressure and it feels like it, inferior to the true wacoms, which makes sense.
Cintiq 13HD starts at 1000$
Surface Pro starts at 900$
