Ode to Parents

Oh parents, fathers in particular, fathers who seem to be quite knowledgable, end up being the opposite.
So, i'm trying to use a Kinect sensor, MotionBuilder, and brekel kinect to make a character animation for the end of year work experience portion of my college course. I thought this would be a good idea, set us appart from the other groups and maybe gain a few extra marks for it. I'm after attempting to use these programmes and hardwares to test see if i could do it so I could bring my laptop and kinect sensor in to college to make the actual animations there, so that we could all be in agreement about them and so our teachers could see us making them.
It turns out its a two person process (or a one person one if my laptop would stop freezing at the crutial moment!) so i asked my dad to help, "what do i need to do?" "just stand there for a minute" "then what?" "i'll tell ya after"
it calibrates and creates a rough skelleton of my dad.. then he starts to walk away. when i ask where he was going he had started to make toast and it was ready now. I said ok go have it, but he insisted on staying, until i informed him it would take over 10 minutes.
But before all this, he was walking in and out behind me. "oh sorry, am i disturbng it?" every time he walked by it calibrated a new user so i ended up with 3 extra users.
Everytime i try to link the model with my dads mocap skelleton it crashes, so i'm trying to use space off a usb stick as temporary RAM. Hopefully this will work, I'll either edit this or comment on it or something if it does work.
