Friends

I have made a hard decision. I am leaving EVE Online to be able to be on Second Life more.
I have not enjoyed EVE much this year, and with a $900 yearly renewal coming up in November for my 6 accounts and the magazine. I am just not looking forward to playing anymore, or to paying for it as I have the last 4 years.
BUT
Leaving EVE means leaving a bunch of friends. That I am unlikely to ever talk to again. I am an OLD YOTE, and I have found that when you leave something, Job, Club, Sport, or Game if you do not have any thing else in common with the people there you will lose them. You may say we will talk, keep in touch, I'll call, we can MSN, I'll get on to see how it going, but how many times have/has anyone kept those promises?
The hardest two I had was leaving Ultima Online and when I got fired from Van Diest Supply.
In UO I had friends that My family and I went and meat in RL. When I left UO after eight years of play I have not talked to them or seen them scents. We had nothing else to bring us together. So no reason to see or talked to each other. Its a lost you hate to go through.
With Van Diest after working there for four years I had very good friendships with those that worked there. Scents leaving there I have seen some of them when shopping in Garden. I have called a few times but we have little to talk about now.
Now I have this to face again. I am surprised by some who will regret me leaving and some others who have not said anything on the Corp forums post I put up last week. The fact that I have been thinking about leaving as been know for more than a month now. The corp CEO even tried a couple weeks ago to get me into a new VAF reactions project, but when I couldn't get any help from the rest of the corp to get it set up. I just could not keep with it myself. Now I'm selling my accounts to another Corp member, and leaving EVE.
I am going to miss a lot of the pilots there. Some I will miss a lot.

Im sorry that you are going to loose those that were your good friends there. Its true that when something brings you together, with that same thing gone its hard to find something to stay together if that was the foundation of your friendship. I hope that your loss lessens, or you are able to have enough so someone will stay in touch at least
