Kaiju Girls and their creators.

I always wonder, would Akira Yasuda approve of the hentai drawn of Morrigan and Felicia?
Would Yuji Uekawa be fine with how Amy and Rogue the Bat are drawn on FA?
Is Lauren Faust upset that not every My Little Pony picture gives her credit?
No, don't be stupid. It's fanart.
And as long as no one is making a profit off of another person's work, nobody should stop you from drawing or having drawn characters you personally enjoy for whatever reason.
Long before I started posting on FurAffinity, I hung around a forum, a forum in which a group of people shared ideas and came up with the Kaiju Girls. Anthropomorphic females based on popular and not so popular TOHO kingdom monsters. I loved that forum, it was so fun, even to the point where I just had to commision pictures of these girsl to post on the forums to share. Sure the content may have no been for everyone. We can all admit stuff like hypnotism and masking can seem weird to others. But I would always post artwork of a much safer content. It was good times, but like good times. They always end.
Eventually more people came..and with them more kaiju girls. some based on monster from other properties, others based on monsters that we already had. The web site and forum owner tried his best to contain it all. Limiting and at least claiming some bit of ownership over each Kaiju Girl made.
But selfishness and hypocrisy is one thing that can never be contained on the internet. Even from the owner.
Eventually it became who could draw who, who was in a relationship with who, who owned who, who could wear this or that, and lord helped you if you even so tried to do fan-art of a Kaiju Girl. Eventually it was just too much and too maddening and the owner washed his hands of it. erasing the Kaiju girls from his site and leaving everyone to fight amongst themselves. but he isn't without blame. Very much so.
One thing I pointed out was making money of the characters. He did and for that he brought a lot of it on himself.
Now I don't remove blame from myself, I can claim that I have made mistakes in the past with them. Mistakes that are still brought up, but I do my best. and one thing is I never claim to own any kaiju girl. Though I have had a tiny hand in making two of them. :P
I still believe that the Kaiju Girls can be what they once were, a fully realized community, that everyone shares in. Artists like Coug'r have shown me that selflessness can happen.
As for the "creators" of the girls based on someone else's property, I'm trying to walk a line here, between your needs and common sense. I will gladly give credit a Kaiju Girls creator, but I will not censor my or anyone's artwork depicting them.
Because it's fanart.

FA+

At the moment I've been working on a couple fan-fics, one set in the classic Daikaiju Academy setting, and the other as a reboot to the original kaiju girl concept. Hopefully more people like us will also participate and help revitalize Daikaiju Academy, not for profit, but for the sake of both enjoying and sharing our creativity and imagination!
I owe them that much.
Their love of money brought corruption upon my seconded home and destroyed it reputation.
but i will eventually including new ones.
i'm trying. ^^;;
Patience they'll all be posted over time.
I only agree that fanart is fanart but I think what you're forgetting is what is appropriate to people. A person does not want to see their fan character having a penis shoved up their ass especially if the character wouldn't do that. Yes these characters are fan characters but they are tributes to the original artist, imagine this.
Someone spent hours and hours on a nice looking symbol of earth, a man is seen standing on that earth with a lightning bolt. And this picture is a tribute to God. Then YOU come along and go "LOL Sex" and draw him holding a penis. That persons work is ruined because what they drew what they considered appropriate. And you drew something you considered hot.
Whether that tribute they made to that person was there's or not originally there's does not give you a right to fuck up that persons fanart. By drawing that "Fanart" (porn) for that person who doesn't want it. Is not good fanart. Fanart is to tribute to the original person, people like fanart that they consider appropriate.
And also SEGA and other companies don't care? then why has FA and other art companies had to stop thing like Child porn and even legit porn on DA? Because these companies do care about what you guys draw and put out there.
This is why cub and pup porn of Cream the rabbit from SEGA is a big NO NO. Because SEGA and many Companies agreed to this, if they didn't care what you guys was drawing. Pup and cub porn would appear often. I know you don't draw pup and cub porn but by assuming companies don't care is wrong.
And I know what you're thinking "WELL I CAN DRAW ROGUE (Rouge btw) WITH HER VAG BEING F%$KED : D" do you even know why companies don't say anything? because drawing porn of a fictional character is kind of sad and not really worth mentioning or fixing. Bare in mind you brought up SEGA. SEGA is aimed for little kids so by saying porn of their oc's is fine then just lol.
Bottom line? people can dislike your fanart, they don't have to appreciate having their tributes ruined by a sex drived person who needs to hide behind "fair use" so they can draw animals in inappropriate situations.
Don't talk about "THE GLORY DAYS" In a community for fan fiction, there is no glory days you idiot. No glory in being in a community that bitches about porn and shitty fanart.
Sure yeah, draw your crap fanart. But don't expect a hug when they dislike your art in general, fanart is fanart exactly. So why can't people hate your fanart? Art is a critic in itself. If your crying about people hating your fanart then may I suggest just not drawing art anymore. Because someones going to dislike your art.
That is all.
You even bring up some good points; but since I've written this journal however, I've sort of moved on.
I really don't post anything and the artwork I have had done I've kept to myself or shared with close friends.
Thanks though, but really this whole industry is a headache.
