Just what is it about this site that seems to compel so many artists to impulsively delete their entire gallery and "leave the fandom forever" without another word?
It's incredibly dramatic and probably unwarranted 90% of the time. What I find even more irritating is how rarely these departures last. More than half the time, it seems so little thought was put into them that a month later, the artist returns, and you get a flood of old art being reuploaded (assuming you didn't unwatch them in the first place). They'll probably end up doing it again later on, too.
So many people seem to try to resolve their problems with big, sweeping dramatic gestures that in the end, they didn't even really want to do. It seems like just a cry for attention some of the time.
I don't know, it's just frustrating. Can we try not to do that anymore? (Hope springs eternal...)

and to support your answer, its not like one has to be on FA all the time and uploading stuff. my visits are intermittent and hell...i dont think i've uploaded anything in over a year XD
