Anyways, what programs are you using? some are better than others in this regard. I hear traditional artists such as yourself take a shine to painter and sai, whereas those who are formally trained or simply didn't have much experience in traditional methods beforehand prefer Photoshop and illustrator.

I prefer phtoshop because when I make huge mistakes I can simply take the lasso and drag/warp selected chunks any way I want.

It can be a jarring change, but I'm sure you'll get it with practice It took me a while to get used to the nuances of a tablet (and I'm still unskilled at using it for inking or drawing from scratch), but it can be useful if traditional media is unavailable. Best of luck!

If it helps any, I've had my tablet for over a year and I have yet to draw a single thing with it that doesn't make me want to hang myself in shame and horror. What I recommend is combining the best of both worlds. You have amazing sketching talent. Have you tried making the sketch traditionally, then inking it with the tablet and taking the process from there?

I will second that I find a lot of artists that do this. :) Not an expert, but I'd agree that you're strong point is definitely your sketching, and using a more user friendly program like Photoshop or Illustrator (Lasso is our friend <3) might make it easier?

Also- tutorials are ALWAYS my friend, DA has a shit ton of them, and on almost every topic. If you haven't already, I'd say it might be worth checking them out to see how other people do it. I would bet you aren't alone.

(Hell I still don't really do Digital art cuz I am much worse with it than I am traditional, and I don't feel like learning to do it with just a mouse XD)
