I've been a fan of them for a very long time. I'm trying to remain faithful even though they're really screwing up during these past ten years what with the Wii and the Wii U being useless. But now I'm just absolutely pissed. My old Wii is about 10 years old already, the fan doesn't work so it overheats, and the disc reader barely works anymore. So I try to save up (I'm a little broke because I took too many commissions) and buy one. So now that I bought one and hook it up, I try loading up my Gamecube games (They were more better than the Wii games) onto it, but it kept spitting it back out. WTF?! I look through the manual, try ripping off the top where the GC controls are supposed to go, nearly breaking it, but it was welded shut! I was clueless! So I look online for some clues and I find out that they removed the backwards compatibility from their new Wii's! What the fuck?! Why?! Is it supposed to slim it up? Save space? Not that I can tell! So I just threw away 130$ bucks down the drain!! I only have 5 Wii games worth playing! Fuck!!!
2. I can't see Nintendo removing the CG compatibility, so unless you bought a used Wii, you must have got a defective one.
3. I would not say the Wii or Wii U are "Nintendo messing up". Nintendo's mission has always been to make a system the FAMILY can play, not make a system with games solely for older players and adults, like Xbox 360 (wich has had far more issues than the Wii).

3. Removing backwards compatibility would cause an opposite affect to that don't you think? I never said I only wanted games for older players. I'm talking about Nintendo games. Not Xbox 360 or PS3. Backwards compatibility offered more options. Why remove it?
i got my wii right after it came out and up to today it still has no problems as my gamecube game player for my paper mario ttyd or some sunshine or pso3 c.a.r.d or fzero
but i got a wii u now also
i still got like 25 gamecube games
so get a normal used wii.... they're cheap cause of the wii u. where do you live?
I personally just enjoy playing older nintendo games NES SNES and Gamecube are the best in my opinion Nintendo lost their touch for making consoles when the wii came out.
I'm sure you can find a gamecube console at Gamestop since the new consoles are coming out soon ones around here cost about 15$
you were stung with that price but at lest you got what you wanted
