So, tonight's rambling post topic is, I feel really self conscious about something.
A few times recently, I have been looking at someone's art or seeing images of other people's 'sonas and suddenly been inspired to write stuff. But because it has someone else or their characters in it, I just don't feel right posting it. They just sit silently on a flash drive, I don't even show them to the friends who usually review and/or proofread my work. I don't even generally manage to tell the other person and see if they want to see it, I am just to worried they won't like how I portrayed their character. It's kind of sad, really.
I was looking tonight at a piece I never finished for this exact reason and feeling like I was failing a child or something. And wondering if anyone who I have written about ever reads my posts almost kept me from even posting this. Which is dumb.
End of ramble, you may now return to the less odd parts of your day. :)

Well, it seems normal to feel self conscious about that lol! People can make some awesome characters, definitely capable of giving inspiration to other artists or authors, it's only natural to want to make a story around them! I imagine that it would be sort of worrisome that you might not have gotten the character portrayal spot on, but that seems acceptable considering that someone else conceived the character's personality, and you wouldn't have a lot of the more subtle nuances of their personalities right, because you didn't have all the info needed for a completely accurate portrayal! I'd say go for it or at least ask the characters owners if they would want to see your work, it seems a shame to have all that work unread!
