1. What is your character's name?
Sugar
2. What kind of character is it (furry, anime, etc) and any particular race?
A sugar glider (Auzzie marsupial related to possums that looks/acts a wee bit like a flying squirrel). Usually she's anthro but she is often just a cute cartoony glider with hair.
3. What is the first thing your character would think of when he/she first wakes up?
the lovely dream she was just having... or horrible one, depending on the night. XD
4. Your character's favorite outfit would be?
When you have a gliding membrane, clothes are tough, but when I dress Sug I put her in a tabard. If she's feeling fancy, a bow tied around her tail.
5. When your character looks into a mirror, what's the first thing they would notice?
"golly, I sure do have some big eyes!"
6. Does your character have the same tastes in food as you?
Well, yes. She IS me, pretty much.
7. How is your character similar to you?
Very much. She is what I use to represent myself, she IS myself. Sometimes I even use her as a means of exploring me or parts of me. So while there are things about her that are either exaggerated or downplayed bits of how I am, it all definitely comes in one way or another from me.
8. How is she different?
She can glide. And I do tend to make her an idealized version of me a lot of the time, in terms of both looks and personality. She's kind of the me I am inside as much as the me that I really am.
9. If your character could speak, would they have the same voice as you?
She'd better. In the impossible event that a movie was to be made of her, I wouldn't let 'em use her unless I was the voice. ^_^
10. If you were to suddenly become your character, what do you think would be the first thing you would do as them?
GLIDE! Then glider glomp my bf for sure.
11. Is there something about your character that you don't like how others think of them?
Oddly enough, I sometimes get jealous of her when people say she's pretty. It's like "how is she prettier than me dammit she IS me!" kind of a thing. Very weird. I keep it to myself mostly. It's my own self-image issues lol.
12. What advantages does your character have over you?
LOL. Pretty much all of 'em. Life is totally in my control when it's her life. She isn't assertive because I'm not assertive, but she doesn't NEED to be, because nobody takes advantage of her good nature in the world of my drawings (I've only written a couple little nothin' stories with her so far) or, if they do, it all works out in the end and she's able to become stronger for it, whereas I just kind of keep takin' stuff and almost feel like I have to.
13. What disadvantages?
.... a good question. One which I haven't really got an answer for.
14. Do you have any secrets relating to your character that only you know?
Yes, of course. ^_^
15. Do you have any secret drawings only you know about?
Sort of.
16. Do you have any plans for your character or are you working on something big relating to him/her?
No, not really. I probably wouldn't either (unless my bf really wanted to do something with her... even then I might object) simply because she's so personal.
17. What misconception(s), if any, do people have about your character?
That she's cute but overlookable, and that because she likes to be silly and tries to look on the bright side she must be some brainless hippie full of baseless ideals. That she generally should be seen and not heard because her ideas aren't worth much, just like her. Oh, yeah, the same ones everyone always has about ME... including the people closest to me *facepalm* She/I/We have inner depths that remain untapped.... largely because I don't feel it's worth the trouble to take them out if nobody's going to take them seriously, or even truly listen. They're safe and fine sitting on a shelf in my heart, cared for but largely ornamental.
18. If you could have just ONE characteristic from your character, what would it be?
I wish I loved myself. Not just sometimes, but all the time. That I had a real, healthy self-esteem... it's a constant work in progress for me. I'm actually much better at it now... but Sugar mostly has it down pat. Wish I was where she is.
19. Have you made any characters that go along with yours, based on real-life people, that have the same traits?
Well of course if I have a fursona, I had to create some of my friends to go with me in drawings... and the love of my heart, naturally.
20. Have you written any stories about your character?
heehee, I wrote a fanfic of the webcomic Carpe Diem with her in it, it's kind of about my own adventures in working out and working on the self.
21. How has your character changed since his/her first creation?
Yes. She's always evolving in design as I get better at drawing and she steps up to meet my needs and my skill level.
22. Give us a one-liner from her.
"That means you can't kill them, 'cause they're already dead."
23. What's something people would be surprised to learn about your character?
She's got a nasty side. Just like everyone. She may try not to, may feel outrageously, disproportionately guilty when she gets that way but she still can be vindictive, cruel, and catty when she's pushed to it.
24. If you met your character in real life, what would you do with him or her?
I would give her a big hug. Then we'd go create merry havoc. And probably we'd talk for a long time about all the stuff nobody else really seems to care about but us.
