Mukat's Prey Deluxe: Review

Today I'd like to highlight a short digital comic created by

Mukat's prey shows the story of a micro having a run in with the titular character, and being eaten in short order. This comic includes 20 pages of art total: a colored cover page, a double page ref sheet, a double page mawshot, a colored prey's eyes pov of Muket, and the main course; 14 pages of vorish goodness. The action is kept tame in terms of sexual content; the prey is fully clothed throughout and the pred is kept tastefully nude (no pun intended. The grayscale coloration and panel layout is very reminiscent of manga style, which works alright. Additionally there is also a page explaining the language of Mukat's race. This page was fun for someone like me who has an interest in linguistics, as the language has had some thought put into it.
Art: Overall I liked this piece, thought there were a few perceived flaws. First, I liked what a cute pred Mukat can be. The panels of her with closed lips, savoring her meal as she pushes him around on her tongue and swallows him are probably my favorite part of the story. You get a sense of just how much she enjoys having a micro for a snack, and that it is so much more than regular food. On the other hand, the prey character is really generic. This is great for some, as it allows one to put oneself in the prey's shoes more easily, but I thought he could have stood to be a little more distinctive, especially in being able to show emotions on his face. It also kinda bugged me that his hair changed color halfway through, although there is a solid reason for the artist to make that change. I did like the double page mawshot, but it seemed a little dark to get the full effect, at least for me.
Story: The story couldn't be simpler, and it is kept short and sweet. It's easy to anticipate what the prey's ultimate fate will be, but thinking about that, and watching as the prey is squeezed down her esophagus are two very different things.
Technical: I tested on both a laptop and android phone. The comic looked great at both resolutions, and it's kinda fun to have something like this to carry around (although I couldn't imagine why I would pull it up outside the house). The layout looks great on computer, but I couldn't get the ref sheet or mawshot pages to display in double page mode on my phone. Also, sometimes the solid colors looked oddly pixelated with artifacts, and that affected certain pages but not others. I can guess why this is, but I would have enjoyed the comic more without this effect.
tl;dr: If you like to see a micro getting eaten by a cute furry girl, check this comic out and see if it's for you. I can't think of a better deal than "pay what you want", and you'll be supporting a cool artist.
