I don't know I just feel like I need to say this or whatever.

Our latest art project in class was to paint a composition that shows two sides of your personality, anyway I worked really hard on it even though I was rushed to get it done due to the due date being moved up. And it's really hard for me to admit that I'm a furry to most people, let alone show that side of myself to a whole classroom. But I wanted to push my limits so I did anyway. After freaking out before class I found out my actual professor wasn't going to be there and he had arranged for a sub to be there for our critique.

This guy literally said "if you don't have the skill to paint, don't do it" to more than three people including me.

First of all this is bad advice because the only way you get better is practice, and it's a basic design class too, for half the people in the class it's their first art class ever, how are we supposed to have the skills if we haven't even tried yet? This class was my first experience with seriously painting, of course it's not going to be perfect!

I wanted CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and tips on how to do better not to be told I suck.

He was a real ass hat about the whole thing. Critiques are supposed to be constructive not plain hurtful. He tore everyone a new one it was pretty bad.
