Honestly, I'm not sure I have an expectation of it going one way or the other. Way I understand it, the point of Ask A Character, is a creative exercise to get in a character's head by answering random questions as the character. As long as Heck attempts to answer the questions, then it serves its purpose.

Fair enough. I talk to him enough to know there's more to him than that and I have learned how to see the legit in the middle of his grousing, but I also am aware that other friends of mine feel the same way as you about him, and that it took time for me to get to know him like I do. He's a bitter pill, but he's also a friend who has been there for me during some hard times the past few years. I know I'll never convince you guys that, under it all, he's a good guy...but he is.

I don't know. Normally I'd say "go for it," but with the news that Yahoo bought Tumblr, I'm not sure what that would mean for all the NSFW tumblr blogs out there.

I've been batting a thousand on the sucky timing this month, haven't I?

I recall reading in an article on the subject that Yahoo wants to make Tumblr appeal to 'all ages,' which I took to mean 'family-friendly,' which would be bad news for all the NSFW blogs out there. But since I can't find that article at the moment, maybe I misread it. The primary reason that Yahoo bought Tumblr is because they want a way to appeal to the below-30 crowd. Though THAT could still be bad news for NSFW blogs since Yahoo has a hard-on for advertisers, and I doubt advertisers want their brand to be associated with a nymphomaniacal pony princess.

Best-Case Scenario: Maisy's blog will stand, but don't be surprised if her page has the occasional advertisement to deal with. If that's the case, I wouldn't worry. It's an inconvenience, but one that shouldn't deter you.

Worst-Case Scenario: You get shut down.

Course, maybe me and the whole Internet are just being paranoid about the whole thing and Yahoo will let Tumblr keep on being Tumblr. The Yahoo CEO has stated that Tumblr will continue being an autonomous entity, so if that's true, you've got nothing to worry about.

I haven't seen any huge freakouts from the blogs I frequent just yet, but still, I would wait. It's still too early to tell if this is bad or not.

actually, since yahoo might be using it for another form of revenue generation (not going into THAT) the actual score is:

best-case: nothing happens.

worst-case: You get banned from tumblr.

Do you know when this change, if it ever happens, will happen? I only ask because I'm also on Tumblr, and though I don't have posts that would be objectional [really don't have any posts, period!], but I have quite a collection of favorited pics that would fall into the above category.

As I understand it, Yahoo will be treating Tumblr largely in like manner to how Activision handles Blizzard - namely, they stay a separate entity and the new owners will keep hands-off, and only take a cut of the profits in exchange for helping them cut down on their overall expenses.

So this "Ask A Character" thing is like roleplay or something?
Still, I think it's not a bad idea.

I personally love the idea of getting inside of a character's head; makes it much easier to write a fan-fic that's true to the original subject material... still haven't given up on featuring Maisy in my new series, although at the moment I'm holding off asking again until I decide on what role she'll play in it; since she's a personal favorite character of mine, Maisy would play a significant recurring role in the series. I think I'll still write the first chapter so I know what direction I'm heading before browsing through the Daikaiju Academy galleries for mainstream characters to make appearances in future stories.

small writing tip: regardless of whose character it is, try to focus on if they have a place in the story rather than what you want. if they don't have a place in the story without you shoehorning something in, the character should probably leave.

That makes sense; the advantage of the wide diversity of characters on Daikaiju Academy is that there's plenty of choices for any role. Like I said, besides being a favorite character, I do think that Maisy would fit well into the story. For example, I imagine that because of the little 'naked k-girl photos' business of her's, Maisy would probably have hidden camera's all over the island; perfect anti-villain/alien invader detection system... the series I'm working on is a action comedy series inspired by western cartoon and Japanese anime influences.
