Stay away from the cheap captain morgan rum.
New Castle is a decent beer.
I mean, it's not Belhaven by any means. But Scottish ale can be hard to find.
IF, you are wanting reasonableish priced Scotch. I'll vouch for White horse blended scotch. It's very drinkable.
It doesn't have the depth of flavor you find in a good single malt. (or a good blended like Johnny Walker). But at around $32 for 1.75L it's pretty drinkable, drinking neat.
(the cheaper blended scotch, including white horse, is only 40% malt whiskey. The balance is made up with grain alcohol. This is how they make it cheaper. But the ones like Passport and highland scotch, have a horrid taste, caused by impurities in the whiskeys they use in their blend).
High ten Burbon is ok for mixing with.
