Cocktails and beverages.

This journal has to do with alcohol and Summer cocktails. If alcohol is not your thing or could be triggering, please skip this. Know that most of these recipes can be made Virgin or in any way you see fit. These are just a jumping off point and to give you some idea's. Really, it's up to you and your imagination. Enjoy!
So, here are some alcoholic drinks (you can make them Virgin if you like) that I thought would be fun to have at a dinner party or BBQ
Lime Sherbert Twist:
1 C. Milk, 4T Sugar, 1/3 C. Lime juice, 2 1/4 oz. tequila, Zest from 1 lime, and a dash of seltzer.
Warm milk and sugar in saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Let mixture cool completely before adding the lime juice, lime zest, and 1 1/2 ounces of the tequila. Freeze mixture. Once it's solid, pour remaining tequila over frozen mix and stir. Pour into glass. Top with seltzer.
Grape Escape:
2 oz. Three-O purple Vodka (Or other grape falvored spirit), 4 oz. Lemonade, and a splash of grenadine.
Mix all ingrediants over ice or pour straight and serve with grape skewer or garnish.
Cherry Blossom Cocktail ( More a Spring drink that Summer)
1 1/2 oz. Cherry Brandy
1/2 oz. Triple Sec.
1 1/2 oz. Lemon juice
Grenadine to taste disired.
Mix over ice, garnish with cherry, and serve.
These drinks are more Autumn inspired. But still might be good for a hot Summer eve.
Spiced Apple Mojito: 3 slices of apple, 1/16 tsp Cinnamon, 1/8 tsp Nutmeg, 2 sprigs of mint, 1 1/2 oz. light rum, 1 1/2 oz. Lime syrup (mix two parts lime juice and 1 part sugar), a splash of seltzer, and a thinly cut apple slice for garnish.
Add the apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mint to the bottom of a shaker and muddle. Add the rum, lime syrup, and ice, and shake well. Strain into a glass and top with a splash of seltzer. Garnish with thinly sliced apple.
Plum Frost: 1 1/2 oz. Plum Sake, 1 oz. Vodka, 1/4 oz. lime juice, a splash of cranberry.
Put everything into a shaker with ice, shake well, and strain into a chilled glass.
Persephone Prism: 1/4 oz. fresh lime juice, 1/4 oz. concord grape juice, 1 oz. Pama liquer, 1 1/2 oz. Vodka, and a splash of ginger ale
In a shaker filled with ice add lime juice, grape juice, Pama, and vodka. Shake. Strain into chilled martini glass and top with a splash of ginger ale. Garnish with any fruit, sliced.
This doesn't have much to do with alcohol. This is more for flavoring drinks and garnishing beverages. Enjoy!
An Ice tray tip:
You can do this for you Cocktails or for even your juices or to flavor your water!
Berries: Distribute an assortment of berries through out and ice cube tray ( or a specific berry if you prefer. Blueberries and cranberries seem to work best)Add water and a splash of syrup (equal parts water and sugar boiled and cooled) to each, and freeze. Drop into ice tea, lemonade, or cocktails to sewwten them. (You can just use water without the syrup if you just want the berry flavor.)
Mint: Place one torn leaf (tearing the mint leaves releases the oil. Oil means flavor!) into each section of an empty ice cube tray, add water, and freeze. Use it in fruit drinks, cocktails, or gingerale for a refreshing kick!
Orange Juice: Pour orange juice into and ice cube tray and freeze. This can be added to other fruit juices, screwdrivers, cocktails, or whatever you think needs some orangey zest!
Or, get creative! Expirement with your own flavors and garnishes! Rosemary, Sage, lemon, Lime. Just remember to crush herbs and citrus a bit before freezing into ice cubes as it helps expell flavor and oils.
