Probably a nice way to throw back to the game they wanted to work on just with a new title.

most likely..but alot of peopel are saying "look its sonic in mario galaxy" idk if it cause they never knew about sonic Xtreme or if they jsut think hateing sonic is cool

It really does look like that now. Given how the trailer is present the levels and his move sets it's really shaping up to look like a Sonic spin on Super Mario Galaxy.

It would've been nice if Xtreme had gotten made back then...but if we're going to get it now, that will be amazing!

I remember my used game store (not GameStop, a local one) had made their own "preview boxes" for pre-ordering the new "Smash Bros."--they put characters they WANTED in it, it was funny! I had to ask them.............. "Are Mega Man X and Knuckles REALLY in the new game?" *laughs* I'll be getting the game, when I get a WiiU, but.........................it would be a "MUST BUY" if it really had Knuckles (and X) available as new fighters!

now that is kinda funny. i actualy remember hearing sega wanted sonic in melee but due to time constrants they could not add him

Yep...there was something about the game needing to be released by a certain date, so they couldn't add him or something. I hope Sonic will still be included in the upcoming SSB game! He was a pain to play as sometimes...............but, man, seeing him swoop in (story-mode) to save the Nintendo Universe was just way too awesome.

I wonder if Nintendo will surprise people with bringing in more 3rd Party game characters, too. The upcoming "Project X-Zone" has characters from Capcom, Sega and Namco games together...I can see Capcom maybe lending a character or two to a SSB game.
