FCD 2013 is incoming!
Only one month left before the 6th edition of Furry Canada Day!
You won’t want to miss it; this year, we regrouped and have spent hours organizing the event for you to have a big red, fluffy Canadian blast.
Here’s what came out of it:
• A Twitter account, to get regular updates. Follow us here at furrycanadaday
• An improved route in order to get the most fun possible of the vibrant, festive downtown Ottawa. Find it right here
• Great fundraising ideas (such as a FCD-inspired YCH commission) in order to have a small budget for props. Keep an eye out for your chance to get a spot - they’ll be limited to 13 only.
• FCD flags! You know them, you love them, and by fluff they’ll be there again. As usual, it is first come, first served, but there will be a fresh batch of 50 there so you are welcome to one if you so desire.
• Want to help out as a handler? Have we got something for you! Shiny slap bands to help distinguish you from the general crowd (because while your fox ears and tail might do it too, they aren't quite as shiny) (unless they are, in which case carry on.) The cost? A promise that you will help with herding the fursuiters so they don’t drown in a happy crowd of many pictures and high fives.
• A brand new FA page with everything you might want/need to know, including a copy of the route.
So join us this July 1, 2013, won't you? The event, as always, is free and the crowd is friendly!
FCD Schedule
1:30 pm
Meetups at the Supreme Court of Canada, on Wellington (same street as Parliament Hill).
2:00 pm
Furwalk begins! We go from the Supreme Court, down past Parliament Hill and the Chateau Laurier, finally making our way over to the Art gallery. There will be one major rest stop and three planned group pictures (at the War Memorial, the US Embassy and by the Art Gallery itself.)
4:00 pm
Meals, Socialization, Relaxation; at this point, there are no planned events for several hours. We suggest you go eat, hang out with your friends/fellow furs locally until at least an hour before the fireworks.
10:00 pm
Watching the fireworks by the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Alexandra Bridge linking Ottawa and Gatineau near the Museum will be closed between 9pm and 11pm. If you are planning on using this bridge to join us, CROSS BEFORE 9:00PM
We will be providing a HUGE blue-tarp covered area down by the river for our group on the lawn of the Museum near the Alexandra Bridge. Again, look for the giant FCD flags marking the space. If you'd like to bring folding chairs or the like for you and your friends please do!
WARNING: If there is rain, the event will be cancelled, so keep updated via Twitter and this FA page.
If you have any question, see our FAQ here or email us at furrycanadaday[at]gmail.com

OP
That's hard to say... It really depends on how early you feel like showing up. I imagine people will start to show up around an hour early (so, near 1pm) or so and start to trickle in from there.
