CHALLENGER APPEARS
I'm looking for some kind of art challenge to work from, does anyone know of any fun ones?
Off the top of my head, all I can think of the 30-Day monster girl challenge, but I know there must be others.
Alternatively I could make up a challenge for myself, in which case, does anybody have stuff they would like to see more of from me?
Thanks folks!

there's some interesting ones there
Try doing, and posting, at least one sketch a day for a full year?
Maybe I could make a year long challenge out of various smaller chllenges? Hmmm
Step 1) Pick a subject, be it a type of job (A blacksmith or a Knight), an animal (Foxes, mice, hawk), a character (Lil' Croconaga), a monster (Were creatures, centaurs), a body type (Emaciated, portly, non-bipedal, something with digigrade legs).
Step 2) Post a journal with this week's challenge.
Step 3) Stick to the subject using one the following "schedules" or create your own. Be sure and post the result every day! Even if your description is just a space or a dot. Draw and Post every day! I've done my best to limit things to 30-60 minutes a day with such a challenge.
Schedule A
Sunday: 3x gesture drawings at no more then 10 minutes each. Use resting poses.
Monday: Pick one of those poses. Draw or paint a background fitting to that pose in 30 minutes.
Tuesday: 3x more gesture drawings at no more then 10 minutes each. This time, focus on dynamic and highly active poses, such as running or dancing or fighting.
Wednesday: 30-45 minute light and shadow study. 10-15 minutes on a quick pose. Now, light that pose up from 4 different angles. How do the shadows play across the curves? This can be black and white or color.
Thursday: Expressions! 3x expressions. Give the subject personality or details. Do they have any scars? Freckles? How does the 'fur' flow? Wrinkles? 10-15 minutes each.
Friday: Flesh out the subject. What would they eat? What kind of tools would they use? Clothing? A cherished item? Spend 30 minutes doing a color theory "still life" on a single aspect of this subject.
Saturday: 60 minute full color picture of the subject. Can you cram a background in there? How about shadows and lighting? Try and bring together the entire week's focus.
Schedule B
Sunday: 5x gesture drawings at no more then 5 minutes each. Tell a story with these poses. Don't tell US the story, make us figure it out on our own.
Monday: Pick one of your gesture drawings from yesterday.
Anatomy time. Draw the skeleton in that pose. Would the bones make sense? Where would muscles connect? 45 minute max.
OR
Turn this into a fully fledged sketch or line art, max of 30 minutes. Think you can slap on hints of color in this time frame?
Tuesday: Look at your finished sketch / line art / skeleton. Where can you improve? Do a 30 minute study on 1 to 3 parts of the anatomy of that sketch that don't 'look right' or that gave you a hard time.
Wednesday: Take a break from the body, do a background in this subject's world. Their house, their bedroom, their place of work, where they go to unwind. Do it in color, no more then 45 minutes.
Thursday: You now have a better understanding of the subject's anatomy. Do 5x more 5 minute gesture drawings! This time, shoot for the dramatic and action like poses.
Friday: Pick one of your gesture drawings from yesterday.
Anatomy time. Draw the skeleton in that pose. Would the bones make sense? Where would muscles connect? 45 minute max.
OR
Turn this into a fully fledged sketch or line art, max of 30 minutes. Think you can slap on hints of color in this time frame?
Saturday: In 60 minutes, do a full body colored image with shading.
Schedule C
Sunday: Portrait! Do a half body / head shot of the subject. You've got 60 minutes. Don't worry about the pose being generic, color and lighting should be your focus.
Monday: The hands and feet! Tell the story of this subject's day to day life in the hands and feet. Are they tough and worn? Soft and manicured? Flesh or padded? Just how are they built? 30 minutes on hand, 30 minutes on foot.
Tuesday: Gesture time! 5x gesture drawings at 5 minutes each.
Wednesday: Another break from the body, paint a bit of background scenery from this world. 60 minutes max.
Thursday: Take two of Tuesday's Gesture drawings and flesh them out. No more then 30 minutes each. Think you can get as far as color and shading?
Friday: Stylize night! Draw 1-3x full bodies in various poses in individual styles. Experiment! You've got many wonderful stylized images, take some and run with them!
Saturday: Once again, round out the week with a 60 minute full body colored image with shading and background.
4) Have no attachment to the character? Don't belong to anyone? Put the bundle up for auction! Turn yourself a nice bit of profit on your work.
5) Win!
