Here’s today’s tale kittens ~ An note, can't write well right now lol but...
Omee, after having an amazing night out with the guys, was ready to donate plasma the following morning. Little did he know the torture it would become as he laid back in the specially designed recliner. The needle went in seamlessly it seemed, blood started pumping out and the vexation playing in the background was the repetitively played Pitch Perfect, Omee gladly opened his book to block it out.
But what’s this? An hour into the flow of things, Omee notices the machine says there isn’t any flow of blood albeit he had been squeezing a gauze wrap the entire time. He calls a nurse over to investigate and she slips the needle out some, in some and then angled slightly before taping it back to his arm. The machine resumed pumping, until the nurse walked off and he called another over to receive the same treatment. Everything seemed fine for a minute until he could feel his pulse alongside a tremor of pain with each passing beat against the needle. The next nurse passing got this report and took a look before tilting her head, grabbing his file without a word and going around the corner.
Upon returning, she hands the file to what Omee could only assume was a higher up as she grabbed the needles base, angled it and stabbed it downward. It caught Omee by surprise but the woman was quick to comfort him with “It’s in your vein now.”
All he can think to do is accept this and relax once more, until the machine quits again. Yet another nurse appears to service him and notices his elbow has become a shade of blue, she checks the machine after he explains he is feeling heavy and lightheaded than with a look of concern she reports she is going to tell the machine to put some blood back in Omee. To relief some of the ache, she places ice packs on his chest and behind his neck and by this point, Omee feels like everyone’s staring so he returns to his book, but can’t quite follow the words so he watches the ending of Pitch Perfect.
Out the corner of his eye, he sees that the bottle containing his plasma has not increased in content and the machine is not pumping as well as it could. A nurse from before increases the power and checks the needle. More tugging, angling and stabbing for the next three nurses that cannot figure out why Omee’s blood just won’t pump but before any solution can be found, the machine says he is done and pumps chilled saline throughout his arm.
From here is smooth sailing apart from the weakness from a minor lack of blood loss for a short time.
I got paid.
Saw Dyanna and Vanessa, they had lunch, pizza was delivered, they were talking over me ^~^ Can’t wait to do it again Saturday!!!
