Please help me decide! Dog talk!

I really should have my mind made up by now but i'm determined to get my dog by the end of this month!
I've got everything set and i'm narrowed down to 2 choices. I'm still not sure which one to go for, I keep going back and forth between a Bull Terrier or an English Bulldog.
There are a lot of dogs I like, some a lot larger, some a lot more 'pretty' but I definitely think it'll be one of those 2 choices. Both have good points and bad points but I really need a shove into which one I should get cos this is a big commitment and I like them both a lot!
Other dogs I like are Rottweilers/Samoyed/Chow Chow/German Shepherd/Newfoundlands/Bullmastiff ect.. I like a LOT but i'm convinced it's between a Bull Terrier and English Bulldog now unless something changes between now and the end of the month.
What do you guys think? The family has always had dogs so i'm used to them but i've never had one of my own in the past, so to speak. I'm used to different types of Terriers, also Collies and Spaniels..
Ahh just so excited I want to make the right choice!! XD

FA+

I like German Shephards, but they can get big.
Bulldogs slobber, i dont think i could cope with slobber
Newfoundlands are cuddily, i got a huge hug from one, but there are HUGE!!!
That being said though, i've always wanted/liked the proper Bull Terriers since i was a kid =)
I have to admit my favorite breed is a doberman though, they are often misunderstood which leads to them being aggressive but their temper is far easier to manage than most people think, plus the females are often so calm and relaxed as to be almost dopey, very loving pets though but they like a lot of attention. Apart from that they don't take much upkeep in terms of grooming.
I rather agree with auroralicious, I've always thought a dog should look like a dog, small yappy dogs tend to irritate me.
