Dear diary,
I had a very good week and a productive one, all in all. We should have finished working on friday but we ended up working the two days after (closing period is the one where all the surprising stuff happens) while we hosted a fun event: Some other archaeologist came, last year, and built a copy of the pottery furnace we had found evidence of in the settlement on the very spot we had found the aforementioned furnace. That kind of structure dates back to the IVth century b.C. and it's basically a dome of clay with a firepit in front of it (it sounds easy to do like this, it's actually not). This year we hosted a public event cooking some vases inside our furnace. That kind of cooking requires about eight hours, so we stood on the site until late night (and I slept in a wheelbarrow). It was quite fun, and the event itself had been quite successfull as not too few people came to partecipate!
