If you haven't read James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room, it truly is an amazing literary experience. I highly recommend it. Very good read <3
I just recently got my foot in the door with the state, but the hours are SAD (20 every two weeks if that), so I've had to keep my other job, plus I'm still going to classes full time. Needless to say, cash is very tight right now so I'm having to sell off some of my stuff to make various bills. I'll probably have some stuff on ebay up later this week (I'll probably link them as some of them are pieces of my game collection and I'd like them to go to good homes).
So, as per the situation, I'm opening commissions. Since I lack the self confidence in my own work to do great things like some of the ultra amazing artists here on FA (and also talent/skill- that usually helps) I'm doing them cheap and based solely on the time I have to put into them. I'm thinking around $12 for something like http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1605365/ I honestly dont know if that's fair or not but it's negotiable. Desperate times, desperate measures.

I rather understand about money issues it's always tight for me too. Currently I'm in between jobs ;p
I've only read Giovanni's Room and Sonny's Blues, but Baldwin's style is just beautiful. The way he writes is just so powerful and expressive, but not ultra out there like I've seen some author's analogies. I want to read more of his work. Any recommendations?
Been there and done that. I worked 2 years at a game store before I lost the job along with 3 of my co-workers. Best job I ever had, and the most I've ever made. Since that little paycut (found a job quickly- but they didn't start me until a week later and I took a pay cut of nearly a dollar an hour) I've been having money problems. But I'll get through it! :D
'Sonny's Blues' was the primary short story I've read. I've read 'Go Tell it on the Mountain', but that was years ago (I probably shold re-read it and refresh my memory). I've been told 'Tell Me How Long the Train's been Gone' is somewhat riviting as well, but I've never had the occassion to read it, yet.
A game store sounds interesting! I've done some secreterial and data input work myself. Working in a book store sounds facinating to me right now.

I wasn't a fan of the Resident Evil games, but only really because of their controls. I'm going to have to try picking them up now.
