I've had mine out. Eat lots of pudding and stay away from anything fizzy. Don't forget to use the water syringe thing after every meal. It oughta be a couple weeks before everything is right again.
Get some warm but not too warm water, in a glass, mix a few spoons of salt in and ever so very gently let it settle in your mouth for 30 seconds or a minute then let it just pour out on its own into a sink when you spit it out.
I had to have a tooth removed which was next to one of my wisdom teeth and the dentist said he'd not remove the wisdom tooth now because it'd bunch up and take the removed one's place. Adult tooth and right at the back so I was quite sore. But I just did the above a few times because it helps it heal.
Waaaait, you didn't get a large syringe afterward to help keep the area clean after meals? I would call them up first thing tomorrow about that, unless they told you or showed you how to rinse the areas out otherwise. There's a chance you could get a dry socket otherwise, from what I recall, and if you think it hurts now, just wait... o.o
Still, if I might make a suggestion? For the first few days, when your jaw aches too much to barely consider eating but eventually that gives way to overwhelming hunger, might I suggest matzoh balls? Hopefully you can get some mixes by you and whatnot, since they wind up being heaven-sent. Basically large, rotund dumplings made from matzoh meal, eggs, and whatnot, but they are stable yet soft enough to eat without bothering your mouth all that much and get you a good amount of protein and carbs in the interim. Less pain and quite filling! Also, they will need salt. ;3
Just be careful with ramen, since that, like most other noodles, if you chew it too much the little bits may happen to get caught all around and can be awkward. ^^;;
it hurt me for mine to grow - and some are still in my mouth half grown.......had none removed yet >.>
Er.. Lots of rest and meds is all I can say >.< Hope you feel better soon though!

I've been thinking ramen would work, and pudding definitely does.
