Vacation, Workouts, Life Updates

Who ever thought a reindeer could be so much more...
So just a few things I wanted to chat about/put out there for the smidgen of you who actually keep up with this Buck and his life:
Vacation:
The last weekend in July I'll be flying out to Cali on a vacation for a few days. I'll be in the San Fransisco are (Staying in Fremont) Thurs the 25th through Mon the 29th. One of the main goals is to get to hang out with
Imbarzaylicious as well as visit/explore somewhere Ive never been. Ive flown through CA but have never visited the west coast and look forward to it. A few CA transplants have given me some advice on places to see (mostly food places >.>) and Ive done a little reading into sights and such. Im not particularly looking to do the tourist rounds but I'll certainly indulge in a Trolly ride or two, check out Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden-Gate Bridge, hopefully see some redwoods, etc.
That said if any CA-furs are in the area and a) want to hang out, and or b) have any advice of things to see, places to eat, clubs/bars to check out, Im certainly open to suggestions
Workouts/Progress:
So as some of you know I've been more and more fitness centric of late (I suppose that's not correct to say, more like I've been more vocal about how fed up with myself physically and how I've been trying to force myself through more than meager weight lifting/working out to try and get myself into a more pleasing shape/weight/thing). I even started a blog/record on Tumblr to keep my progress updated, though aside from some self shots that aren't nearly as amazing as can be found on the interwebz Ive mostly been posting my workout routines. You can check it out HERE. Ive been trying to keep a consistent 3-4x a week, with a warmup jog, high intensity weight lifting, finished off with some high bpm cardio. So far Ive felt some effects but I've still struggled with the frustration more than once at not feeling like Im going anywhere with it.
Some friends have commented on how I look (though it tends to be more in the hypothetical of "if you keep up the working out as much as you are you'll be huge before long"), which helps but given I've always been a bit cautious about praise I find myself, even without my realizing at first, not taking said praise as genuine. Part of it is my own lack of praise for myself coupled with the agonizing stalemate that the cold-hard numbers of the scale and such show me. To help alleviate the angst a bit I only just thought of picking up some Tailor's Tape in the near future and tracking various muscle dimensions as a better gauge of progress then just using the ubiquitous gravity needle (a bathroom scale).
As always I'd love to hear any advice, tips, diet recommendations (it's my next largest hurdle despite curbing several bad habits somewhat I still am at a loss when it comes to finding new, fitness minded dinner ideas: Before you suggest it, I highly doubt I'll ever commit to the Paleo[no carb/sugar] diet but might be interested in hearing about particular dishes from said diet... just sayin ).
Commission Status:
Slowly, but surely, I've been trying to commit time to working on the handful of commissions I have on my plate. By my last count I still own
protoka a sketchmission,
jforte91 has a full color commission in the works (I have a general idea of how I plan to get this one going, with hopes that I'll have some rough sketching done by the end of the week), and the final two pages of
dmk's comic that Ive been sloooowlllllyy working on for the better part of 6 months now (full time job and other distractions aside I regret this particular piece taking so long). Beyond those I have at least one personal piece Ive been toying around with in my head for a while but wasn't planning to set aside work that other's have waited ever so patiently for just so I can scribble some of my own smut.
That all said, to those mentioned above, fear not, I have not forgotten you and will do my best to get pen to pa... tablet and your requested works in good smexy awesomeness within the best of my ability.
To anyone who might have been interested in seeking my work, while it wont likely been astonishingly quick, I AM still open for new commissions, so feel free to take a look at my gallery, send me a note/comment below with any questions.
Life In General (As if I hadn't rambled enough already....)
As mentioned above, my current job is progressing as well as can be expected. I've tied to a desk 9ish hours a day from 11am-9pm//9am-6pm 5xdays a week depending on the day but the pay is definitely good enough as a first full timer and I certainly hope the "experience" will make my future that much easier. That said I feel like all Im doing of late is working since my hours are kind of weird and the days off are far to brief/called for each week with other activities (my own fault with them but when you don't have much time/drive to do anything before/after a work shift you've got to schedule any non-work things when you can).
My car is sounding worse and worse each day with primarily a loud creaking sound that I fear has to do with the suspension in some way (Im finally having it looked at Friday after putting up with the insentient creaking noise it makes when the car shifts/I turn the wheel/anyone gets in or out of the car). Plans to sell/junk it and get a different car in the VERY near future are in the works. Plus I had been considering how I am 27 and honestly don't have much in the way of Credit History established aside from Student Loans and a small credit card it would do me good to (hopefully) get a small car loan and start working on that sooner rather than later. So this Buck is hoping to get some new Sleigh-bells and I'll keep you all posted with maybe a picture or two (assuming I don't break down and get some beat-up bright orange VW Bug).
I suppose that's enough for now (assuming anyone made it this far in the first place).....

Start with a chicken breast(boneless skinless preferred), grill, then place on flat top--feel free to marinade in a light dressing beforehand, something with a little salt like italian might work well.
Dice mango and pinapple(enough to really cover the chicken)
Let cook on flat top ontop of chicken
Slice red onion, green peppers, red peppers.
Mix salad of dark green leaf with the vegies from above.
Place chiken on top.
Add some nuts(walnuts or almonds i like best in my salad.
Boom, delicious meal. I made it at school. I'd have prefered a little spice so I added garlic and crushed red pepper to the chicken when it was grilling.
Its a sweet salad but overall pretty good for ya :)
The fruit variation will likely help.
I did recently see a recipie for zucinni spears with tomatoes and cheese for a side dish I want to try:
Low carb!...YES!! talk about yummy!
SIMPLE EASY SIDE DISH...
Slice the zucchini in half. Slice off the bottom to keep in stable. Brush with olive oil and top with garlic or garlic powder. Top with sliced tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Use mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese or mixed blend.. Bake 375 for 20 to 30 minutes until soft.
if you want more salads, thats how i lost all my weight lol. i got plenty
