you gotta give him time to get used to you,maybe you have a smell on you that smells threatening to find? or maybe your picking him up wrong?

It took mac around a few months to get used to me

mom thinks maybe it's because i'm a bit loud (i'm almost deaf in one ear because of a really bad sinus infection right now), and i'm trying to get some unscented hand sanitizer tonight. all i had was watermelon scented and tried that last night and he just thought i was a treat. XD it was actually quite funny.

xD and yeah, loud noises can scare them, as their hearing is sensitive, but after awhile, he should get used to your voice etc..

well hopefully my voice gets less scratchy and my ears start working full-force again soon. i've been on antibiotics for about 5 days now i think? should be soon. hopefully i don't scare him as much then :3

It'll likely take weeks for him to get used to his new surroundings. It can be scary for them when they're taken out of the only environment they know and put somewhere new. You can try sitting next to his cage and reading aloud from a book or just tell hm about your day in a soft voice. That way he gets used to hearing you. Try feeding him something that he has to stay by you to eat. I'm not sure if pigs can have yogurt, but as an example, put some yogurt on a spoon and hold the spoon. He'll have to be near you to eat it. Once he starts getting more comfortable with you you can try petting him as he eats. You could also try putting an old sock or something of yours in his cage after wearing it for a day so he gets more used to your smell.

i know they can have yogurt because the vitamins he takes for vitamin c are like solid yogurt drops. i hold them next to him and he nibbles them, so i know he trusts me enough to eat from my hand. he also likes when i play animal crossing next to his cage. he tends to popcorn when the characters are talking XD it's honestly really adorable.

Oh my gosh, that's adorable. If he trusts you enough to eat from your hand he'll likely warm up more to you in no time, he probably just needs more time to adjust. Good luck with your new friend!
