I'd say request a refund if you haven't heard or seen any information on your commission. Good form is to keep people updated and do commissions in a timely manner. =/ If you're stuck waiting for someones art and they didn't give you a notice ahead of time of how long it'd take (some people wait years for a commission but were notified ahead of time) then I'd say you have the right to a refund.

As said upper, the artist's ToS say "No previews" and "no refunds, no refunds, no refunds"... I know and appreciate the way you work, keeping track and making the commission you have to in order... I just hope people may be as professional as you are.

At most I've made people wait a month or two (thats if they've paid before hand.) And I feel like shit doing that. The way I try to operate is if you pay me in full, I start work asap. But if you have a spot and haven't paid, I usually wait until all parties are ready to start the commission then crack it out. Sadly, the longest I made someone wait for a commission was about 4 months, and they had paid...I just completely lost the drive to draw. He understood, which I was grateful for. When I got my drive back, I smashed out his commission in about a day and a half. X3

But I got off track. If you've paid for the commission, then you have a right to either ask for a refund or ask for a wip. If they haven't even worked up a wip in this time, then it's time to demand your money back from them because they're taking the piss. If they cant give you a refund because they've already spent the money (which is something I'd never, EVER do), then they've basically stolen money from you.

Well, so I would assume I've been stolen... But that's quite hard to understand why a popufur would make something like that...

I can understand hiatus, I can understand artistic breakdown, I even can understand laziness in a certain way, but, please, artists, make me aware of this and tell Me when you expect to be back on track!

That's when you need to just contact them, love. It's your money they've taken and not done what you've paid them to do. It's wrong.

Who knows? Some people like the attention. Some just take on too much and get over loaded. Some are just dicks.

Uhm i'm probably the worst person to ask, but i like to check in after a couple of months if i haven't heard back from the Artist i've commissioned, i think it depends on the Artist, but if they're trying to work on it, they will respond, typically.

I've been very fortunate to get everything I've ever commissioned, but I'd say my batting average seems to be a year for my more recent commissions (which I haven't yet posted to FA).

Never said I was happy about it. I'm going to start including deadlines with my commissions from now on. 1 month, fine. 3 months, understandable. 6 months, pushing it. 1 year is ridiculous.
