Something new

Well I'm in Tacoma which means "Seattle" just like most people around KC all the way out to Olathe identify as being in "KC". It's just easier geographically to mention to people but I digress.
Kinda having a rough go out here finding a job partially due to my own procrastination and an attempt to find jobs more relevant to my position in the Air Force. As with anything though, I'm finding little things here and there to keep me afloat while I await my next chapter.
Speaking of which I've been rapidly advancing through my positions at the unit and have apparently impressed my supervisors enough that they keep throwing potential assignments at me in an attempt to see what will stick. The latest of these has been an advancement and learning opportunity known as JCAC (Joint Cyber Analyst Course) based out of Pensacola Florida. I got the nomination and should be headed there some time in January I hope. It will consist of 6 months of rigorous studying in all things computers and network related. I don't know much about the course itself aside from the fact that it has a high (30+ % washout rate). If you're curious you can look up some anecdotes on a Google search but don't expect to find much in the way of specifics. Infer what you will from that.
Until then I am waiting things out and hoping I can find something short term to tide me (and my bank account) over.
On a lighter side I am starting to make some friends and acquaintances around the area with local Sea-Tac furs and have been striving to make it to more meets whenever possible. It seems that others are gravitating to me here just as quickly as all my much missed friends from Kansas City did.
As an aside from my life blog I would like to point out that for anyone who would like to vacation to Seattle (it is quite pretty and fun once you dig into it a bit) I have some space available for maybe $10-$20 a night. This rate is also available for the upcoming Rainfurrest convention should you wish to attend (although doubting).
