Nonsense following.
Dear diary,
An extract from an historical egiptian text, reguarding the reign of Pi(ankh)y:
"[...]after having dominated the north you advance, transforming the bulls in women![..]"
WTF?

I want wathever it was these ancient cultures used to smoke.
.....but really, what does that little bit mean?
Well, from what I can gather the egyptians ofter used the bulls as strenght and courage symbols, as a matter of fact there are quite a lot of pharaohs whose name meant "bull that does something or another" (for example the Horus name of Amenhotep II was "powerful bull of great strenght", Akhenaten's was "Strong bull beloved of Aten"). Also egyptiian regarded a womanly behaviour weakness and often to say that someone was fearful or weak called him "woman" (in the same text from which I took the aforemationed quote it said that the rulers of captured cities went to the pharaoh and their legs became womanly=trembled before him), a derogatory use of the term which unfortunately survives to this day.
Given this premise I suppose that the text I quoted meant that the passage of the pharaoh made his opponents tremble, who before were courageous and strong.
Still I wtf'ed when I first read it.
Thanks a lot for the explanation! This is really interesting 8D
